Welcome to Culberry Storage. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our storage services and facilities at Culberry Storage, Angmering, West Sussex. By renting a storage unit or container with us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms.

Please read them carefully before entering into an agreement with us.

1. Definitions

“We”, “Us”, “Our” – refers to Culberry Storage.
“You”, “Your” – refers to the customer or person renting storage space.
“Storage Unit” – refers to the unit or container you rent from Culberry Storage.
“Agreement” – the contract formed between you and Culberry Storage when you rent a unit.

2. Use of Storage

You agree to use the storage unit solely for storing goods and not for habitation, business trading, or any illegal purpose.
The storage unit must not be used as a residence, office, or workshop.

You are responsible for ensuring that all goods stored are clean, dry, and safe.

3. Insurance

You are required to arrange your own insurance to cover the full replacement value of all goods stored.
We do not provide insurance and are not liable for any loss, damage, or theft of your belongings, however caused.

Proof of insurance may be requested at any time.

4. Padlocks & Security

You are responsible for supplying your own padlock to secure your unit.
You must ensure your unit is locked whenever unattended.
We are not responsible for theft or loss resulting from inadequate or faulty locks.

CCTV and site security are provided for deterrence only and do not guarantee protection.

5. Prohibited Items

You must not store any of the following:

  • Flammable, explosive, or combustible materials (e.g. gas bottles, petrol)

  • Perishable goods or live animals

  • Illegal substances, weapons, or stolen goods

  • Hazardous or toxic materials

  • Waste or rubbish

If prohibited items are found, we may terminate your agreement immediately.

6. Access

Access is available during posted opening hours only.
We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, safety, or security reasons.

You are responsible for ensuring you close gates and secure the site upon entry and exit.

7. Payments

  • All fees are payable in advance on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on your plan.

  • Payment methods accepted: bank transfer, standing order, or card payment (if available).

  • A deposit may be required and will be refunded after vacating the unit in clean and undamaged condition.

8. Late Payments

If payment is not received by the due date:

  • A 3% late fee may be applied for every 4 weeks overdue.

  • Access to your unit may be restricted until full payment is made.

  • Continued non-payment may result in termination of your agreement and sale or disposal of stored goods in accordance with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977.

9. Termination

You may terminate your agreement by giving at least 1 week’s notice in writing or via email.
The unit must be left clean, empty, and unlocked.
We may terminate this agreement with 7 days’ notice (or immediately for breach of terms).

Deposits will be refunded after inspection.

10. Liability

We do not accept liability for:

  • Loss or damage to goods stored

  • Consequential loss or business interruption

  • Acts beyond our control (e.g. fire, flood, theft, vandalism)

Your statutory rights are not affected.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
